After the entire destruction of its factory during World War II and the following reconstruction, the Italian firm Aurora sought its reestablishment in the complicated framework of the post-war period with the launch, in 1952, of which would eventually become a real object of worship for writing lovers: the mythical fountain pen Aurora 88.
Designed by the famed industrial designer Marcello Nizzoli, author of some of the most outstanding models of Olivetti typewriters, its spectacular design and the successive improvements in its elements became a true reference, achieving to overcome, in the opinion of many experts in the field, the revolutionary Parker 51, its main source of inspiration and, at the same time, its largest competitor.
