Its characteristic “flat-top” design is one of the most notable features of the Professional Gear collection, the most extensive and successful line of products, along with the 1911, from the Japanese brand Sailor.
The Professional Gear collection, also known by the abbreviated formula Pro Gear, is an exciting set of fountain pens that highlights the Sailor brand's mastery in the design and manufacture of writing instruments.
The keys to its fame are none other than its careful manufacturing, carefully executed using artisanal methods, its quality materials, which include beautiful resins and precious metals, its unquestionable beauty, its extraordinary functional performance and, of course, its vast offering of models and finishes, which has been expanded over time with the launch of countless variants and different special or limited edition proposals.
Thus, under the mantle of the Pro Gear collection, and following the main guidelines of its design, we find versions of different sizes such as the “Regular” and “Slim” models, the latter also known in the Japanese market as “Sapporo”, and “Mini”. It also includes fountain pens equipped with an integrated piston loading mechanism facing the usual cartridge or converter system, in the case of the “Realo” model, or with different special editions that are inspired by natural phenomena, well-known festivities, traditional legends or evocative landscapes and that play with materials, finishes and colors to, starting from a fully recognizable model, offer a totally unique aesthetic proposal.
Added to all of the above is its already mentioned technical excellence, which, above all else, is evident in its superb nibs, made by expert workers in the Sailor factory located in the Hiroshima prefecture, made with 14 or 21 carat gold, depending on the Pro Gear finish chosen, and famous around the world for their smoothness and magnificent performance.
