Vac
There are many virtues and qualities that have made the fountain pens of the Taiwanese brand TWSBI famous since their overwhelming burst into the market a few decades ago, but if we had to choose one main key to explain their unquestionable success, this would probably be to offer complex and efficient loading mechanisms at really low prices. This is the case of the TWSBI Vac collection.
From its first model, the now defunct TWSBI 530, to its low-end models TWSBI Eco or Swipe, passing through the fountain pens of the Classic line or the multiple variants offered within the Diamond series, the charging system chosen by those responsible of the brand was always the one with an integrated piston or plunger, a mechanism that surpasses that of cartridges in loading capacity and that allows it to be carried out through ink fountains without the need for converters or adapters.
Building on this successful formula, TWSBI gives a new twist to its product catalog with the launch of the Vac collection, a line of fountain pens that enhances the aforementioned qualities with the inclusion of an effective charging system invented in the first decades of the last century, but which, inexplicably, had practically disappeared from the panorama of handwriting and which now reappears improved: the vacuum filling system or "vacuum filler".
The Vac collection recovers this charging system and includes it in a product line currently divided into two variants differentiated, basically, by their size: the Vac 700 R model and the Vac Mini. The first is the improved version of the well-known Vac 700 model and the second is a pocket version ideal for being carried from one place to another thanks to its small dimensions. Both present a series of common notes such as the simplicity of their designs, the frequent use of transparent resins in the style of fountain pens known as "demonstrator" in the production of their bodies and caps, their low price and, of course, their enormous autonomy thanks to the large capacity of their ink tanks, which in practice correspond to their bodies.
