Alpha

With its exquisite collection of Alpha writing pens, the Italian firm Aurora intends to pay moving tribute to the beautiful region of Tuscany, where, under the protection of the powerful Medici family, it met throughout the XV and XVI centuries, an impressive group of architects, painters and sculptors who, with their incomparable creative genius, gave rise to the Renaissance, the artistic movement that managed to leave behind the dark years of the Middle Ages with its intelligent reinterpretation of the splendid Greco-Roman culture.

Beyond the suggestive names of the models that compose it —Notturno toscano, Cielo fiorentino and Terra Senese—, its fountain pens introduce into their delicate design a series of elements that have a great impact on this idea: on the one hand, purity of lines and the use of resins that, with their marbled finish, immediately evoke in our minds the image of elegant columns supporting churches or temples of the classical order; but, above all, and in a more direct allusion, the original diamond-tipped ornamentation that adorns its attractive nozzles, a decorative resource widely used in the cladding of the facades of hundreds of Renaissance buildings throughout the old Europe and which, in this case, has its reference point in the Palazzo dei Diamanti in Ferrara, built between 1493 and 1503 commissioned by Duke Ercole d'Este.

Fountain pens that evoke, and constitute an offering, to one of the most interesting and revolutionary periods in history.
