Ecridor

The Ecridor collection, “writer” in its translation from French to English, is a line of high-end fountain pens that is part of the Haute Écriture (“High Writing”) series by the Swiss firm Caran d’Ache and whose defining features include its attractive hexagonal design, the use of different precious metals in the construction of the pens that compose it and the decoration of them with different guilloché ornamental patterns that enliven each of the six faces that make up its surface and demonstrate the degree of excellence and artisanal skill in metal engraving displayed by the Caran d’Ache workers.

The fountain pens in the Ecridor collection feature classic, timeless shapes clearly reminiscent of Art Deco, an artistic movement that was prevalent in the early decades of the 20th century, the same period in which Caran d’Ache achieved its first best-sellers. The movement focused primarily on architecture and the decorative arts and was defined by its monumentality, its geometric and aerodynamic forms, its refinement and its attention to detail, adjectives that are fully applicable to the writing instruments in the Ecridor line.

Beyond their unquestionable aesthetic virtues, which make them considered authentic pieces of goldsmithing, Ecridor fountain pens are also distinguished by their structural solidity, their high-quality materials and, of course, their functionality and reliability, aspects that place us before the greatness of a century-old brand that has known, like few others, how to convey the prestige and international relevance of products made in Switzerland.
