Premier
In September 1983, Parker launched the Premier series on the market with the intention of reorganizing its product line, giving a new boost to its high-end writing instruments. To this end, it was decided to interrupt the production of consolidated models such as the Parker 61, 65, 85 or 105 and the marketing of this new series of fountain pens was undertaken, largely indebted to the Parker 75 model, from which they collected a good number of their main aesthetic characteristics, raising it one step further with the use of noble materials among which precious metals would take on special prominence.
Although in the last years of this beautiful line's existence the Parker factory in Newhaven (United Kingdom) also took care of part of its production, its manufacturing was basically carried out in the factory located in the small town of Meru, in the north of France. , and it lasted about a decade, a period of time during which different models would see the light among which the Presidential should be highlighted, made of solid 9 or 18 carat gold with Godron stripes; the Athens, 22k gold plated. and enlivened with striking lacquer inserts; the Grain d'Orge, in gold or silver plating decorated with an elegant ornamental barley grain pattern; or, finally, the Cicelé fountain pen, in sterling silver chiseled with a pattern taken by Kenneth Parker, son of the company's founder, from an English cigarette case from the 1960s; all of them enormously valued and coveted today by fountain pens collectors.
The Parker firm recovered this successful range of products with the launch of its renewed Premier collection, today discontinued already. A spectacular line of fountain pens that take up the witness of its illustrious predecessor, taking from it its primitive essence and its characteristic materials (chiseled gold and silver, brushed metal or polished with lacquer details, solid 18-carat gold nibs...) giving them a more contemporary look with impressive designs that place it, along with the Duofold line, at the top. high of Parker's current production. True works of art assembled by hand and individually tested to guarantee a unique writing experience.
