World War II was a hard blow for the Aurora writing pens company, which added to the logical decline in demand typical of turbulent times the destruction of its factory during a bombing. To recover from these adversities, Aurora hired the prestigious industrial designer Marcello Nizzoli with the aim of creating a unique fountain pen that would relaunch the brand in such a harsh context. As a result of this collaboration, Aurora 88 was born in 1952, an impressive piece that quickly gained the public's favor and ended up becoming a cult object.

This legendary pen resurfaces today with the launch of an homonym collection that, with the unmistakable seal of Italian design and the incorporation of the latest technological innovations in its manufacturing, aims to recover its past glory and become a benchmark in the sector.

With this ambitious purpose, the Ottantotto 800-C “big size” fountain pen is born. A delicious work with a body and cap made of black Italian resin and chrome decorative elements, among which its elegant clip and a beautiful ornamental band with the brand name occupy a prominent place.

Its closure system is screw-on and the loading system has an integrated plunger, which is completed with a magnificent ebonite feeder and a translucent window to control the amount of ink in the tank.

As for its superb nib, it is made of rhodium-plated solid 14-carat gold and, with the intention of satisfying the most varied tastes, it is available to the public in special options such as the italic or the stub along with the most common points: EF , F, M, B and BB-.
