After the ravages suffered during World War II, which included the destruction of its factory in a bombing, the Aurora brand sought to take position itself in the tough post-war market with the launch of a new pen that would face its main competitors. To distinguish themselves from them, those responsible decided to hire the famous designer Marcello Nizzoli, responsible for the creation of some of the best-known models of Olivetti typewriters. From his privileged mind the Aurora 88 fountain pen was to be born, a work that combined design and technological innovation and that would end up becoming a milestone in the field of writing pens.

The legendary "Ottantotto" returns today with the launch of an entire homonymous collection that recovers the serene classicism and incomparable elegance of its source of inspiration but that, at the same time, incorporates the most modern existing technical advances.

One of its most notable models is the Aurora 816 fountain pen, a delicious piece made entirely of solid 925 sterling silver, with the characteristic linear guilloché ornamentation of the series extended to the body and cap, and refined decorative details in gold.

It features a snap closure and an elegant personalized ornamental ring at the base of the cap. The loading system chosen is the ink cartridge, which can be transformed to the plunger using the Aurora Converter 158-C (not included) for those writing lovers who enjoy the pleasant ritual of refilling through the inkwell.

Its exquisite nib, preceded by a beautiful gold ring at the end of the mouthpiece, is made of solid 14-karat gold and, along with the most common thicknesses —EF, F, M, B and BB—, is made available of the public with "shovel-type" options such as italic or stub, giving with this wide variety of possibilities satisfaction to the most diverse tastes and hobbies.
